Tahoma Farms CSA:

The Tahoma Farms CSA box is our single-source, 100% direct-from-the-farm box option.  For 25 weeks – from the beginning of June through Thanksgiving – we select the seed, plant, grow, harvest and deliver the best vegetables and fruits all from our farm in Orting, WA. 

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a movement to bring farmers and families together through food.  By being a member in our CSA program, you will directly support Tahoma Farms – a first-generation family farm located 20 miles Southeast of Tacoma in Orting – and we will provide you with the convenience of freshly-harvested, seasonal organic produce delivered to your door.

We offer great variety, featuring over 50 different crops and more than 100 different varieties throughout the season. 

We host several events throughout the season at the farm, offering you the opportunity to come out and see first-hand where your food is grown. 

We offer you the flexibility of customizing each box through the Terra Organics web store and the ability to start and stop as you wish, schedule a vacation mid-season and pay as you go. 

As a member in our CSA program you will:

• Support local, organic agriculture and a small family farm.
• Eat only the freshest food harvested a day or two before it is delivered to you.
• Connect with your local farmers and eat seasonally.

Pledge Plans:

The CSA relationship is established through a financial pledge of support for the farm before the harvest begins.  While we offer you the ability to pay for each box throughout the season, we ask for a minimum $100 pre-payment now that will be applied to your account on June 1.  We also offer a significant discount for payment-in-full before the season starts.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. How much is included in the weekly small share?  e.g., what size household would it feed?

A. It really depends on how many fresh veggies your household consumes on a weekly basis.  But each week there will be 9-12 items in the small box; more in the large box and in larger quantities.  There are some households of two that might find it difficult to go through all of the food in a week (which is why we offer an every-other-week share option).  Households of 4-6 should have no problem getting through a weekly large share.  Once signed up through Terra Organics, you also have the option of adding to your order from a wide array of other seasonal fruits and vegetables, and eggs, grains and more, to supplement the contents of the CSA box.

Q. Is there any fruit included within the share?

A. This year we will have strawberries, raspberries and melons.
